Nancy Ruth (Sisson) Radford, passed peacefully on December 15, 2022, at Overbrook Nursing and Rehab Center. She was the youngest child born to Nathan Sisson and Anna Ethel (Evans) Sisson on September 14, 1930, in Pomeroy.
On June 29, 1967, she married Rollin Radford and gained two stepdaughters; Connie (Doug) Little and Judy (Barry) Marshall, two years later Rollin and Nancy had a daughter; Sally Hanstine. Nancy was blessed with five grandchildren; Jesse (Misty) Little, Tucson, AZ; Tyler (Courtney) Little, Chillicothe, OH; Rachel (Joe) Cornell, Racine; Nicholas Ingels and Allison Hanstine, both of Pomeroy, and six great grandchildren; Izzy & Lexi Cornell; Emmett, Sam, and Adeline Little; and Parker Little.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings and in 2018 by her husband, Rollin. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy was a long-time member of the Rocksprings United Methodist Church and later attended Carmel Sutton Church with her daughters.
Nancy worked as a Clerk at Elberfeld’s Department Store for 22 years prior to her marriage to Rollin. She took great pride in her work there and made many wonderful memories. She was a two-time Pomeroy Broiler Festival Queen. When able, she loved decorating for Christmas and took great time in placing each decoration meticulously. If she didn’t have a piece she needed she, often with the help of a very talented craftsman, Rollin, would carefully design and build just the right piece. Nancy would work tirelessly preparing the perfect family Christmas dinner. One year, knowing that many of her family members loved different pies, she got up early Christmas Day to bake all of their favorites; a total of 12 pies. In addition to being an amazing cook and baker, Nancy was a talented seamstress.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of Overbrook Center who provided care to Nancy over the past 16 months.
In honoring Nancy’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Burial will be in the Rocksprings Cemetery. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home, Pomeroy.
