Mrs. Patricia Ann Smith King, 81, a resident of Lexington, NC, passed away on Saturday,December 3, 2022 at Lexington Health Care Center. She was born On July 4, 1941 inBoyd County, KY to Lewis Dewey Smith and Cynthia Louise Church Smith. She was a homemaker, loving wife, sweetest mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Pastor’s Wife, and friend to many. She enjoyed reading her Bible and other books, always entertained her grandchildren with story-telling, loved seeing the leaves turn colors in the fall, and loved to take a drive in the snow with daddy.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde Smith, Dewey Monroe Smith, Robert Smith, and James Richard Smith; sistersDorothy Johnson, Bertha Mae Shephard, and Betty Jo Rowley Walters; and two great-grandchildren, Titus Avery Robbins and Emmett Lucas King.


On December 19, 1964, she married Dewey Stanton King, who survived of the home; also surviving are daughters, Kathy Tackett and husband Roy of Denton, NC and Melody Myers and husband Brent of Huntington, IN; son, Michael King and wife Dawn of Pomeroy, OH; brother, Oscar Ray Smith of Grayson, KY; sisters, Rebecca June Moore of Rush, KY and Elizabeth Gay Manns of Whiteland, IN; 12 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.


A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Archdale Pilgrim Holiness Church with Rev. George Gee officiating. Interment will be held at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Cheshire, Oh, Friday, December 9, 2022. Mrs. King will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until placed in the Church on Wednesday two hours prior to the service. The viewing and visitation was held at the funeral home on Tuesday December 6, 2022 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. A funeral service will also be held at the Rose of Sharon Holiness Church in Middleport, OH on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 1:00 pm. A viewing and visitation will be Friday, from 11:00 am till time of services at the church.
