DEAR POLLY-I do volunt- work with the elder- ·
ly and llaDdlciiiiiM!d and would appreCiate having
some art craft liiOaa for using those nice Wille ea~s
that come on hair spray, shaving cream, clealillig
products, ete. They are, much too nice to thrOw away
and turOly could lie put to some use.-ANlTA
DEAR POLLY-When. we were lravellng reCently, my
1lUBband came up with a very convenient way to keep his
fHVorlte ue and ault !rousers all · together and on the
hanger. He had once loat a pair of slacks In a motel tiecauae they bad sUpped oft the hanger UMoticM. He bimg
his tie over the !rousers 1111 the hanger (after we bad retrieved them) and pushed hls ue leek through the pants
and one thickness of the tie just under the hanger rod and
securod It with the futener on the other side. All arrived
lntect and wrlnkle-free.-MRS. H. K. T.
DEAR POLLY-Whenever
1 change the disposable bag
in my vacuum cleaner, 1
spray some Insect killer In
it to prevent small Insects.
such as spiders and .. ants,
that might get sucked up
while vacuuming, from
breeding before It Is time to
change the bag. I try to pick
a rather pleasant smelling
bug spray for this purpose.GISELA
DEAR POLLY- Do tell Helen that it is very easy to knot
the end of nylon sewing thread if you put a short length
of cotton t~ad with 1be nylon, knot both together and then
cut away the excess cotton thread. You will have a strong
knot made of the combined threads.-LYDIA
