MAN. THAT IDLL IS STEEP - So said the riders in the Meigs Motorcycle eiUII
hill climb Sunday on Peach Fork Road. At least 45 degrees steep, this hill not beln&
made by the driver, looks "about 90 degrees" from the top. The motorcycle club at•
tracts cycle enthusiasts who are law-abiding taxpayers and anxious to erase a certain stigma drawn by the few cycle riders who handle their machines as rowdies (llld
rarely live to old age). The Cycle clubs encourage Jaw officers to treat the rowdiel
according to law. Their extraordinary behavior crowds the good riders from head·
lines. Hill climbs and scramble races are the chief thrill events sponsored by cyclt
clubs, all conducted under the most strict rules for safety.
