Sit Down And Discuss Sch.ools?
run the risk of being a political ~•P-"hild using Ute Jia~d-me-downs of the Albany school?
-tt could happen.
We' belleve that t!>e suuestlon Mr. 0 . 0 .
Patterson made at the Wednesday evening
meetiJIC should have a' lot of study by the
Northern Local BOjlrd, -tile Western Board,
[be 1\lllOny Board and the County Board of
EdUcation. We believe that those bodies
sftould have a joint meeting, work out an
agreement by which students Dlight attend
either Albany or Rutland school with the
1chool selected getting the ADM payment
from the state and tuitlon payment waived
from th e Northern Local District.

Albany wants increased enroiJment in its
high school. So does Rutland. Scipio people,
we feel sure, would like to keep a school dis-

tt!ct under their control. They have a fine
b~ilding and we are sure they would like to
bav.e the' pleasure of using and maintaining
It without the necessity of applying to an outof-county school board for permission.
A vot'e on the matter wtll not solve a geo·
·graphical pl'l/blem. It will still be just as far
from Pageville to Rutland or from Horner
Hlll.to Albany.
It could , however, be solved if the four
boards we ba~e named will sit down and
~~roly diS!'USS t;be issue.
not try It?
