We need only to ponder liow stagnant our
entire economy would be ~ere it not for advertising.
'
'
· A new product desired by many folks to
l~ghten daily work loads, to speed up produc·
tion m a trade, to reduce the cost of fashion·
ing an item, would "Sj!ll" slowly unless in·
terested buyers are reached through adver·
!ising.
Adv~rtising is the best modern means _
actually the only one - of spreading the
word about products that are for sale.
It o!ten has been observed, and it is ele·
mentary in the advertising trade, that suc.

cess In business is nothing more ihan having
something · other people want, then Jetting
them know about it thr~ugh advertising.
It would be Impossible to find a successful
business fuan who has not followed thili simple precept.
Advertising has been so busy talking .bout
others it hasn't had time to talk about itself.
It is the least understood Industry in Amerl·
ca Yet it is a basic economic force
Jt helps the farmer sell his crops. It helps
the manufacturer sell h1s factory output. It
helps the merchant sel) his wares. It helps
the technician sell his skill. It encourages
giant corporations to tool up for mass pro·
ducllon by speeding mass consumption. It is
essential to our American Way of Life.
In <hort, America Is a Better America _
thanks to Advertising!
