SPAHN WORKING IN FACE

BALTIMORE (UP)) - Manager Fred Haney of the National League defied baseball percentage today when he called

"He does better against righthanded batters than agl<im<t
the lefties," Haney declared confidently. "He'll give

this year between the wmning club and the best from the
also-rans (as was carried out In 1957) perhaps should be revised. In the expanded league at least three teams are demonstrating they are very nearly equal, the Indians, Racine
and the Middleport Colonels. The other three, all tied for
"fourth place" aren't far behind.
.
This All-Star plan might be reorganned so that the managers of the. top two teams draw on an equal basis for two
squads from the eptlre league. They too could play a best
three of five series.
And Jf Wahama wins the M-M League with Its souped
club the rest of the league would delight In taking on Hemsley, Lewis, Wamsley, et. al. (Where, oh where are the Wahama Boys?)
No word has beer. received In these quarters wllether or
not Wellston or Galllpolls or any other community will spon·
sor an Invitational Little League Tournament this year.
As wann as Interest Is here all we lack to stage one our·
selves are the lights to play under. Perhaps this will come
before another year passes If we set minds to It.
