Write the name of Charleo Ricketta on
th.; ballot for Marahal at the Primariea to be
ht!ld Tuesday, Auauat 11th.

l.ondor,

Many of my friends and supporters seem
to think I am not a candidate for this office because I resigned at a recent meeting of council.
This resignation was done in order to comply
with the legal features of the case referrirlg to
my appointment as special traffic officer and I
want to assure each and every voter in Pomeroy
that I AM a candidate for Marshal and I will appreciate the support given me.

Tomorrow the voters of Pomeroy will nominate six members of the Republican party for Council. There are ten candidates in the field. In ~asting
your ballot it will be well to remember a few pertinent facts:
.
'
The streets of Pomeroy, including the hill· tops and alleys, are in the best shape in the town's history.
The Village has NO outstanding bills.
The Public school buildings of Pomeroy, including the new GYM, are lighted FREE, the Council of the Village of Pomeroy having obtained a
contract from the Southern Ohio Electric Co. for ten years that gives the Village FREE LIGHT to all school buildings, ward houses and the City
Hall building.

.

.THE VIL\.ACE GETS MORE FREE LIGHT THAN THEY PAY FOR.
The Village of Pomeroy has no bonds to refund. This is the first time in 30 years that this condition has existed. All bonds of the Village are
Serial and are being paid off each six months on March 1st and September 1st as theyfall due, the last bond falling due on September 1st, 1942.
The Village will be free of bonded indebtedness at that time if no more bonds are issued.
'
The bonded indebtedness of the Village, exclusive of the bonds issued for the new street and the fire apparatus which were issued by authority of the vote of the people, is the lowest if has been for many years.
·
Many permanent improvements have been made at The Beech Grove C~metery which is in the best shape it has been fqr years.
The electric rate in the Village was VOLUNTARILY lowered by the electric companies during the regime of the present ~ouncil.
Very few Villages and Cities in Southern Ohio have ever been able to get any state aid on their streets, YET, all the brick streets in Pomeroy
are tar covered, AND PAID FOR.
WHO DID ALL THIS? WAS IT THE PRESENT COUNCIL? OR DID IT JUST
•.
. . HAPPEN?
;
·,, . •
•• . .
' .
DO YOU WANT A COUNCIL THAT HAS ACCOMPLISHED SOMETHING FOR THE TOWN?
OR DO YOU WANT ONE THAT MERELY MAKES YOU VAGUE PROMISES?
•
DON'T BE MIS-LED. DON'T LET THE SMOKE SCREEN OF AN AGITATOR FOOL YOU
If you want a continuance of the high class representation on your Council that you have had the past six years
