He was born March 16, 1965 to the late Okey Harold Schartiger, SR. and Georgia Louise Gilmore, he worked as a general laborer in the construction of homes, he enjoyed being outdoors working and walking. Okey is survived by his wife Karen Sue Wise Schartiger, two children Amber Yvonne Schartiger and Derek Andrew Watkins, grandchildren Patrick Watkins, Megan Little, and Andrew Watkins, several brothers and sister, numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded by two brothers. Services are Friday, December 16, 2022, at 1 pm at Birchfield Funeral Home, Rutland, OH, with Wendy Caldwell officiating. He will be laid to rest at Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire, OH. Visitation is Friday from 12 pm till time of services. The family asked that in lieu of flowers to give donations to Birchfield funeral Home, P. O. Box 188, Rutland, OH 45775, to help with Okey’s expenses.
