Text Any textual data included in the document Ruth E. Jenkins, 87, of Middleport, OH, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on December 3, 2022, at Overbrook Rehabilitation Center. Ruth was born January 21, 1935, in Middleport, OH, to Harold and Ouida (Farley) Chase. She was a proud 1952 graduate of Middleport High School and enjoyed many years of fellowship with Yellow Jacket classmates. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Gallipolis, OH. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many. Ruth enjoyed traveling, watching the neighborhood deer along the Ohio River, Buckeyes and Bama football, rollerskating, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, David Jay Jenkins, her sons, Steve (Donna) Jenkins, Rutland, OH, and David (Alisha) Jenkins, Chesapeake, OH. She was MawMaw to grandchildren: Gabe (Brook) Jenkins, Lawrenceburg, KY, Sarah Dawn (Jeremy) Roush, Pomeroy, OH, Caleb Jenkins, Seymour, TN, D.J. (Kristen) James, Westland, MI, Aimee (Matt) Alteri, West Chester, OH. Great-grandchildren: Hope and Grady Jenkins, Ellie and Trace Roush, Jaylynn Jenkins, Benjamin Jenkins, Leia James, Lilly and Violet Alteri. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Anthony, Middleport, OH, brother-in-law Clifford Coleman, Clifton, WV, and son-in law Daniel James, Ypsilanti, MI. Preceding her in death were her parents Harold and Ouida Chase, daughter Beth James, grandson Kendall Jay Jenkins, sister Frances Coleman, brothers-in-law Gerald Anthony, Ray Lieving, and Harold Young. The funeral service will be Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at Anderson-McDaniel Funeral Home in Middleport, OH. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with funeral to follow with Pastor Marc Sarrett of First Baptist Church, Gallipolis, OH officiating. There will be a graveside service at Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruth’s name to Ohio Valley Christian School, 1100 4th Avenue, Gallipolis, OH 45631. The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the staff at Overbrook Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate care given to Ruth, Jay and the family.
