            <text>Herbert Barker, 77, of Racine, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Dec. 1, 2022.&#13;
&#13;
Herbert was a coal miner for 39 years. After his retirement, he created ponds for himself and others, gardened, ran his sawmill, loved playing UNO with his family and his Sweetie. Herbert especially loved spending time with his 6 grandchildren.&#13;
&#13;
Herbert is preceded in death by his son, Bobby Barker; his parents, Orville and Myrtle Jeffreys Barker; sister, Bonnie McQuerry and brothers, Lester, Junior, Bill, Kenneth and David Barker.&#13;
&#13;
Herbert is survived by his wife and Sweetie, Nancy; his two daughters, Melissa Barker and Trina Smith and sons, Eric Larkins and Christopher Smith. Herbert is also survived by his sister, Betty Barker Adkins of Garrettsville, Ohio and his six granddaughters whom he loved so very much, Sierra (Hi C) and Cheyenne Barker (Shiney), Alyssa (Chickadee) and Kylie Smith (Scoot), Ava (Smiley) and Everly (Wild Child) Larkins. Each had a special nickname and a very special place in Pappaw’s heart. Herbert is also survived by his faithful dog of 18 years, Sand Dog.&#13;
&#13;
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022, at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, with Pastor Jay Hubbard officiating. Visitation was held at the funeral home Tuesday, from 11 a.m. until time of service.</text>
