            <text>David Blankenbeckley, 75, of Firebrick, Kentucky passed away at 11:27 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2022, in the Abbyshire Place Nursing &amp; Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on April 5, 1947, son of the late Lonzo and Mora McCray Blankenbeckley. David was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Portsmouth, Ohio and a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Army where he received a Purple Heart. He was also a member of the Carpenters Union for 50 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Connie L. Blankenbeckley. He is survived by his two children, Ben (Tonia) Blankenbeckley of Westerville, Ohio, Vanessa Bowen of Firebrick, Kentucky, one sister, Sue Angel, of South Portsmouth, Kentucky and grandchildren, Alexis (Seth) Jordan, Makaiya Blankenbeckley and Morgan Blankenbeckley. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2022 in the Roberson Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, South Shore, Kentucky. Rev. John Gowdy will officiate. Interment will be in the Firebrick Cemetery in Firebrick, Kentucky. Military graveside services will be conducted by the James Dickey American Legion Post #23, Portsmouth, Ohio. Friends may call from 7 - 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 11:00 a.m. util the funeral hour on Thursday at the funeral home. Local arrangements were by the Cremeens-King Funeral Home.</text>
