            <text>Emery Garfield “Gar” Haggy, 78, of Rutland, passed away, at 4:17 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2020 in the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. Born September 18, 1942, in Bancroft, West Virginia he was the son of the late Emery A. Haggy and Eula Mae Hood Haggy-Odegard. He was a member of the River of Life Church of God. He was a welder and worked for American Alloys for thirty years and the Meigs County Council of Aging for five years. He was a man of many talents and he enjoyed farming for many years.&#13;
&#13;
He is survived by his wife Lelia Kitchen Haggy, whom he married on September 6, 1968 in Laurel Cliff, sons, sons whom he greatly loved, Rex Scott (Rhonda) Haggy, and John (Melissa) Haggy, both of Rutland, four grandchildren who were the light of his life, Jessica Haggy, Parker Haggy, Olivia Haggy, and Catherine Haggy. Brothers, Jack (Janice) Haggy, and Ernest (Brenda) Haggy, both of Pomeroy, sisters, Delores Surface, of Middleport, Shirley (Harold) Meadows, of Mason, WV., and Ruby (Dale) Gum, of Tennessee, a sister-in-law, Joyce Haggy, of Pomeroy, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.&#13;
&#13;
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Harold Norton, and a brother, Lloyd Haggy.&#13;
&#13;
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2021, in the River of Life Church of God, 37032 State Route 124, Middleport, Ohio 45760, with Pastor Sam Buckley officiating and interment will follow in the Rocksprings Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the Church. The Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Pomeroy is entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Gar's memory to the River of Life Church of God, Care Closet. </text>
