            <text>Emelyn W. Scarberry, 83, Thurman, passed away at 12:55 A.M. Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at her Holcomb Hollow Road home. Born March 27, 1935 in Oberlin, Ohio she was the daughter of the late William and Norma Mae Russell Wickline. Emelyn was retired as manager for the Gallipolis office of the State of Ohio Department of Employment Services.&#13;
She was a graduate of the University of Rio Grande, a member of the Simpson Chapel United Methodist Church in Rio Grande and the Gallipolis Chapter #283 of the Ohio Eastern Star where she served a past Worthy Matron. Surviving is her husband, Alfred A. Scarberry, whom she married February 12, 1955 in Liberty, Indiana, her four children, Peggy (Dave) Thomas, of Westerville, Ohio, Bruce (Tami) Scarberry, of Thurman, Jennifer (Doug) Evans, of Gallipolis and Amy Thornton, of Charleston, West Virginia, thirteen grandchildren, Erik (Joly) Fields, Madison, Mississippi, John (Holly) Fields, Fort Collins, Colorado, Natalie (Marc) Herdman, Lancaster, Ohio, Andy (Tricia) Thomas, Upper Arlington, Ohio, Sara Thomas, Powell, Ohio, Samantha (Brent) Smith, Middleport, Shayne (Christina) Scarberry, Grove City, Ohio, Jeremy (Jessyca) Barnette, Pomeroy, &#13;
Angie (Leslie Klein) George, Pomeroy, Heather Johnson, Vinton, Karen (Josh) Skidmore, Thurman, Jacob (Sarah) Stump, St. Augustine, Florida and Bobby (Angela) Shamblin, Chicago, IL, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Also surviving are two sisters, Jessie Purcell, of Montrose, Colorado and Donna Jean Sandefur, of Wakeman, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two brothers, William Wickline and Thomas Wickline. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 18, 2018, in the Simpson Chapel United Methodist Church in Rio Grande. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Middleport. Friends may call from 6 - 8 P.M. Thursday at the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis and one hour prior to the service at the church. An Eastern Star memorial service will be conducted by Gallipolis Chapter #283, O.E.S. at 7:30 P.M. Thursday in the chapel.</text>
