            <text>Robert Gene Shaver, 67, Gallipolis, passed away at 5:05 P.M. Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in the Holzer Medical Center. Born January 31, 1951 in Gallipolis, Ohio he was the son of the late Lawrence and Naomi Shaver. Gene was raised on the family farm in Gallia County and later began attending Gallco workshop in 1979 and was employed there until 2008. Gene enjoyed watching television, especially old western movies and the Bonanza television series were his favorites. He enjoyed being outdoors and was a huge Ohio State Buckeyes fan. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his brothers, James Shaver, Kenny Shaver and Charles Shaver and his sisters, Linda Shaver, Karen Baird and Marie Barcus. Surviving is his sister-in-law, Debra Shaver and brother-in-law, Ralph Barcus. A memorial service for Gene will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 27, 2018 in the chapel of the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.</text>
