Text Any textual data included in the document Violet Irene Grate, 95, of Rutland, Ohio passed away on October 27, 2022 at Holzer Medical Center. She was born on June 13, 1927 in Marion, Ohio daughter of the late William and Alice Fout. Violet was a very loving and caring mother who taught us very early in life about Jesus. She instilled within each of us about caring and serving others and attending church. We were blessed with lots of love and laughter in our home. Mom and dad never knew a stranger and it wasn’t long before each one was part of our family. She is survived by her children, Bonnie (Mike) Nicholson, Ron (Becky) Grate, Mike (Denise) Grate, Georgene (Martin) Saunders and Beverly (Tim) Scites; sister, Martha Conley Penn; 11 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 63 years, George Grate; granddaughter, Charity Diane Nicholson; sisters, Bulah Knight and Ann Hicks and a brother, Paul Fout. Funeral services will be held at the Rutland Church of the Nazarene on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 11:00am with Pastor Andy Ramey officiating. Burial will follow at Miles Cemetery. Visiting hours for family and friends will be held at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy on Monday, October 31, 2022 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
