Text Any textual data included in the document Herbert “Herb” Short, 86, of Chester, Ohio (formerly of Cleveland, OH), passed away from this life on October 19, 2022, at the Darst Home in Pomeroy, Ohio with his family and special care staff by his side. He was a member of the Hobson Fellowship Church. Herbert loved his wife, his children, and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Herbert is survived by his daughter, Amberly (Pete) Johnson; son, Daniel (Lisa) Short; grandchildren, Theron (Ashlynn) Johnson, Meghan (Bradley) Geoglein, and Ethan and Broghan Short; sisters, Mary (Les) Schmellhaus, Sue (Jim) Mattox, and Marcella Sousa; sister-in-law, Rebecca Avino; and many special nieces and nephews. Herbert was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Martella Short; father, Joseph Short; mother, Gladys Short; sister, Betty Maynard; and brother-in-law, Boney Maynard. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at 2:00pm with Pastor Mark Mitera officiating at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy, Ohio. Entombment will follow at Meigs Memory Gardens in Pomeroy, Ohio. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00-2:00pm at the funeral home. The family would like to give a special Thank You to Ohio Health Hospice and staff for the wonderful care. They would also like to thank the special caregivers at the Darst Home for the wonderful care provided.
