            <text>Charles E. Thompson, 85, of Alexandria, passed away, at 9:10 a.m. on Sunday, March 5, 2023 in the Smiths Mill Assisted Living. Born March 15, 1937 in Alabama he was the son of the late Monroe B. and Mary Wright Thompson. He was a retired Union Carpenter.&#13;
&#13;
He is survived by his wife Montiena Stanley Thompson who he married on September 19, 1959, and a daughter, Penny Thompson. Three sisters, Thelma Welch, Bobbie Turbeville, and Flora Steed, a brother, Lonnie Thompson, and numerous nieces and nephews.&#13;
&#13;
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023 in the Providence Cemetery with Pastor Dean Warner officiating. The Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis is entrusted with the arrangements.</text>
