He is survived by his wife Montiena Stanley Thompson who he married on September 19, 1959, and a daughter, Penny Thompson. Three sisters, Thelma Welch, Bobbie Turbeville, and Flora Steed, a brother, Lonnie Thompson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023 in the Providence Cemetery with Pastor Dean Warner officiating.
