            <text>Roger Lee Barrett, 75, of New Haven, WV, passed away January 3, 2023, in St. Marys Medical Center, Huntington, WV, following a brief illness.&#13;
&#13;
He was born August 16, 1947, in Rutland, OH, a son of the late Robert Lee and Margaret (Tyree) Barrett.&#13;
&#13;
He was a United States Army veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Stewart-Johnson V.F.W. Post # 9926 Mason, WV and the American Legion Post # 140 New Haven, WV. He was a retired coal miner working for Southern Ohio Coal and a member of the United Mine Workers Union. Roger was an avid football fan.&#13;
&#13;
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Virginia Lucretia (Bumgarner) Barrett; son, Shannon (Bonnie) Barrett of New Haven; daughter, Shelly Barrett of Letart; sisters, Norma Stanley of Mason, Annamae Collins of Marysville, OH and Connie Neal of Pomeroy, OH; grandchildren, Jonathan, Taylor, Justin, Olivia, Charley, William, and Jessica; 10 great-grandchildren.&#13;
&#13;
Service will be 1 p.m. ~ Monday, January 9, 2023, at Foglesong-Casto Funeral Home, Mason, WV with Pastor John Bumgarner officiating. Burial with military honors conducted by V.F.W. Post #9926, Mason, WV and American Legion Post #140 New Haven, WV will follow in Union Cemetery, Letart, WV. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.</text>
