<text>Gwendolyn Kay "Gwen" Martin, 65, of Syracuse, Ohio, left the sufferings of this world behind on Friday, February 10, 2023, at James Cancer Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born January 18, 1958 in Mason, WV to the late Harold and Helen Stanley Gibbs. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Douglas, Darrell, Gerold, and Lesley Gibbs and sisters, Helena Gardner and Nancy Neal.

Gwen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She always found the good, even in the worse situations. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren! She loved watching them play sports, well except football, and she could always be found at a concession stand looking for the best popcorn.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Richard Martin; sons Steven of Lumberton, NC and Patrick (Chasity) of Middleport, OH. Her grandchildren, Jacob Patrick and Jeremiah Allen Martin both of Middleport, OH and Allison Brooke and Steven Alexander Martin both of Lumberton, NC.

Additionally, she is survived by her brothers, Harold “Jack”, Harvey “Pete” and Wesley Gibbs and sisters, Luanna Hussell and Regina Gibbs; brothers -in-law, Joseph and Jeff Martin and sister-in-law, Sheryl Dowell and several nieces and nephews.

Private arrangements are under the direction of Foglesong-Casto Funeral Home in Mason, WV. Burial will follow at Gilmore Cemetery in Minersville, OH.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gwen can be made to Meigs High School Baseball Program, P.O. Box 7, Pomeroy, OH 45769.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal! Love you momma!
