He was born August 3, 1942, in Dunbar, WV, a son of the late John W. “Jack” and Euvetta (Barnett) Bechtle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John A. Bechtle. Darrell was a 1961 graduate of Middleport High School and was a retired Coal Miner from Meigs Mines # 2, with 27 years of service. He was a member of the Middleport Masonic Lodge #363 and Clifton United Methodist Church. Darrell loved his dogs, enjoyed attending auctions and collecting antique items. Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Mary Ann (Hoffman) Bechtle; son, John D. Bechtle and his wife Vicki of Middleport, OH; sister, Sarah Klontz and her husband, Russell of Zephyrhills, FL and one step-grandchild, Brendan Nuscis.
