Born on June 16th,1956 in Athens, to the late, Richard and Thelma (Gabriel) Thomas. He spent many years working for the Southern Ohio coal company in Meigs Mine #3 and #31. In his free time, Rich loved being outside, fishing, target shooting, hiking, camping and taking rides on his motorcycle were his favorite things to do. He was a loving father to Richard Thomas (Missy Clowes), Aaron Thomas, and Colton (Rebecca) Thomas. A wonderful grandfather to Skyler James Thomas and Dorothea Grace Thomas. He will be missed by many, including his sister Rebecca (Rick) Snyder, many nieces, and nephews and cousins. He was proceeded in death by his parents, and his brother Terry Thomas.
