Text Any textual data included in the document On November 30, 1942 a daughter was born of the late Clarence D. and Clara (Dixon) Haning near Albany, Ohio. She was born at the "family farm house" on "The Ridge". Betty grew into a beautiful woman, no bigger than a handfull of minutes. Challenges were no problem when she had to face them. Whether she was really hardheaded or just determined, it made no difference, for she loved all her family and they were her life. Betty and (Mick) attended and made new friends at the little Christian church on Dexter road near Langsville, which they had never forgotten. Betty enjoyed sewing, dancing and fishing. And yes, Elvis was the King of rock and roll! Several months ago she was faced with terminal lung cancer. On February 6, 2023, Betty passed away at her home at the age of 80 years young. It was the same home that she and her husband (Mick) had built to raise a family of their own. It was built only steps away from the old farm house where she was born in on the ridge. Betty was descended from Matthew Haning, which was one of the first settlers of Athens county in 1797. She was a 5th great-granddaughter. Betty was also descended from Henry A. Dixon. He was the last surviving civil war veteran of Meigs County. She was a great-great granddaughter. Besides her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Milford (Mick) Wyant, brother James K. Haning, grandchildren Austin and Charity Gilmore. She is survived by children Marty (Carron) Wyant, Beverly (Troy) Gilmore, and Linda Gilmore all of the Albany area; brothers are Wayne (Erna) Haning, Russell (Terrie) Haning, and Bruce Haning; sisters are Bonnie (Clifford) Whittington, Barbara (Steven) Cotterill, and Crickett (Lowell) Ridenour; grandchildren are Kayla, Tyler, Shania, Ty, Zyon, Miya, Constance, and Rees; great-grandchildren Maria, Bentley, Rowan, Remington, Jaylynn, Hadilynn, Raelynn, PJ, Kayson, and Kyia. Many many nieces and nephews. Also, Roxie and Charlie, Boots, Button and KiKi. As per Betty's request for cremation, there will be no funeral services. Special thanks to Barb, Cricket and Kelly for all the nights and days spent caring for her. All the thoughts and prayers from family and friends.
