            <text>Cecil Oril Gillette Sr. passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at his home at the age of 96. &#13;
&#13;
    Cecil was born on May 29, 1926, in Athens, Ohio, son of Arra and Lucy Gillette. Cecil was retired for thirty-four years which he enjoyed every minute. He was a plasterer by trade and retired from the Meigs coal mine. He enjoyed golfing and bowling with family and friends. &#13;
&#13;
     He is survived by son Cecil Gillette Jr., Mrs. David (Sis) Wright and Mrs. Allen (Shari) Gillispie, six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, best friend and great-grandson Logan and a special niece and nephew Diane and Orland Saylor. &#13;
&#13;
     Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Gillette, brothers Herman Gillette, Delmer Gillette, Harold Gillette, sisters Mrs. Doris Coffman, Mrs. Lucille Cone, Mrs. Pleasant Wilson, a daughter-in-law Sheila Gillette, many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.&#13;
&#13;
     Graveside services will be Saturday at 12 noon in Alexander Cemetery with Minister Rex Young officiating.&#13;
&#13;
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Ohio Health Hospice, 444 West Union Street, Athens, Ohio 45701.</text>
