            <text>Bessie Fisher Lanier, 77, of Southside, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on March 14, 2023 after an extended illness.&#13;
&#13;
Bessie was born on April 22, 1945 to the late George and Myrtle Quillen. Bessie lived in Meigs County most of her life where she raised 4 children. She retired from Imperial Electric after 30 years of service. She was a member of the Beech Hill United Methodist Church in Southside, West Virginia.&#13;
&#13;
Bessie loved her family and friends very much. She never knew a stranger an would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. The true loves of her life were her 7 grandkids and 14 great grandkids. She loved being a mother and grandmother.&#13;
&#13;
Bessie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Fisher; brothers, Tommy, Buster and George Quillen; daughter, Angie Kerr; an unborn grandchild; and a brother-in-law, Larry Janey.&#13;
&#13;
She is survived by her husband, James Lanier; sons, David (Cheryl) Fisher of Rutland, Dewayne Fisher of Mason, and Jay (Christy) Fisher of Middleport; brother, Ronnie (Joyce) Quillen; sisters, June (Ted) Stewart and Carolyn Janey; several grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, nephews and many friends.&#13;
&#13;
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 1:00pm at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Middleport with Pastor Ronnie Tote officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Middleport. Visiting hours will be on Saturday from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the funeral home. A dinner in honor of Bessie will take place after the services at the New Hope Nazarene Church in Middleport.</text>
