            <text>Jewell G. "Judy" Saunders, 85, of Gallipolis, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Holzer Medical Center. Judy was born on October 30, 1937 in Crown City, Ohio, daughter of the late James W. and Pearl Scarberry Puckett. She was retired from the Gallia County Local Board of Education where she served as treasurer, was a member of Rome Missionary Baptist Church, and was a graduate of Mercerville High School Class of 1955.&#13;
&#13;
Judy was married to Berkley E. Saunders on July 28, 1957 in Mercerville, Ohio; and he survives her along with two daughters, Debbie (Mark) Sanders and Donna Saunders both of Gallipolis, Ohio; son-in-law, Mike Rossiter; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Rossiter; three sisters, Madeline Puckett, Faye Sanders, and Emma Lee Martin; and four brothers, Lyle Puckett, Enos McGuire, Studie Puckett, and Charlwood Puckett.&#13;
&#13;
The funeral service for Judy Saunders will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Mercerville Baptist Church with Pastor Garland Montgomery officiating. Her burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church.</text>
