            <text>Albert "Tony" Jerome Gallagher II, 83, of Gallipolis,  passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023 at the Holzer Medical Center.  Tony was born on January 9, 1940 in Charleston, West Virginia, son of the late Albert Jerome and Patricia Ann Burke Gallagher.&#13;
&#13;
He was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church and was currently serving as the President of the Gallipolis City Commissioners.  Tony also volunteered and served on several local organization's boards including Community Action.  He was a staunch supporter of the Gallipolis City Police and his commitment to Gallipolis was unwavering and being so dedicated, he was in attendance of the last commissioner's meeting on Tuesday, despite being very ill.  Tony had a deep love for this town, its people, especially his church family at St. Louis.&#13;

Tony is survived by a son Greg (Carol) Thomas and by a daughter Cindy (Randy) Simpson; grandchildren Cole Simpson, Jordan (T.J.) Washington, and Chase (Bailey) Simpson; great grandchildren, Heidi and Colton Washington and Oliver Simpson; Sibling Lynn Ferber; nieces Jacqueline Jenkins, Joanne Dillow, and Sarah Cromwell; great nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Gray, Austin, Brandon, and Jennifer Dillow, Miles and Mason Feeley and Astraea and Malakai Cromwell; his bonus family Debi Kassin Sova, Stacie, Nolan and Paxton Vernon; special friends, Randle and Penny Simpson, Patty Hays, Ronnie Lynch and Mick Blackford.&#13;
&#13;
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Deborah Gallagher; a niece Mary McCarrey; brother-in-law Jack Ferber and bonus brother Bob Sova.&#13;

A Funeral Mass for Tony will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2023 at the St. Louis Catholic Church with Father Tom Hamm officiating.  In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to a GoFundMe in Albert Tony Gallagher name or https://gofund.me/9a2c177d or to the family to help with expenses.</text>
