            <text>Carl E. Saunders, 77, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Darst Private Care Home in Pomeroy, Ohio.  He was born on February 14, 1946 in Gallia County, Ohio, son of the late Saul M. and Bessie Arbaugh Saunders.&#13;
&#13;
Carl was retired after working 31 1/2 years for Goodyear, Shell Oil, and M&amp;G Polymer Plant.  He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.  Carl was married to Linda F. Roberts Saunders; and she preceded him in death on October 19, 2002.  He is survived by a daughter, Moriha (Ed) Buck of Guysville, Ohio and a son, Travis (Jodi) Saunders of Lore City, Ohio; three grandchildren, Saundra Buck, Connor Saunders, and Aurora Saunders; one sister, Leona Gail (Steve) Barney of Circleville; a brother, Russell (Patricia) Saunders of Gallipolis; and several nieces and nephews.&#13;

The funeral service for Carl will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Willis Funeral Home with burial following in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens.  Friends may call on Friday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Military rites will be given at the cemetery by the Gallia County Funeral Detail.</text>
