            <text>Phillip Duane Hampton, age 66, of Gallipolis, died Sunday May 14, 2023 at his residence. Born September 15, 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Earl “Blackhawk” Hampton and Noreen Robertson Hampton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a brother; Douglas Michael Hampton and a sister; Pauline Cornett.&#13;
&#13;
Phillip was a well-known and highly regarded artist and sculptor as well as an archeologist. He was proud of his Indian heritage and was an active participant in area Pow Wows. He had a great zest for life and for his family.&#13;
&#13;
Phillip is survived by a son; Zachariah N. (Staci) Hampton of Gallipolis, grandchildren, Destanee A. Hampton of Gallipolis, Angelique (Christopher) Kingery of Addison, and Dakota Thomas of Gallipolis; great-grandchildren, Dyson Allen Hunt, Lucas, Kayden, Elijah, Declan and Konnor Kingery, Aurora and Onix Thomas; brothers; Kenneth Earl Hampton of Smyrna, TN. And Charles E. (Teresa) Hampton of Cadmus; sister; Penelope (Allen) Hampton-Shope-Koons of Gallatin, TN.; nieces and nephews; Stormy Hampton of Smyrna, TN., Michelle (Bill) Warner of Smyrna, TN., Kenneth (Stephanie) Hampton of Bellbuckle, TN. Chris (Erica) Hampton of Gallipolis, Eric (Sherry) Shope of Zanesfield, OH., Aletha (Martin) Felan of Gallatin, TN., and Sean, Shannon, and Marlo Hampton. Also surviving are several additional nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.&#13;
&#13;
Services will be at the convenience of the family.</text>
