            <text>Willis G. Wilcoxon, age 89 of Gallipolis died Thursday morning May 25, 2023 at Abbyshire Nursing Center. Born May 1, 1934 in Gallipolis, he was the son of the late Joseph Dewey and Helen Halley Wilcoxon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by brothers, Ronald, Melvin, Dallas and Leland Wilcoxon and by a sister, Ruth Saunders.&#13;
Willis was a well-known barber in Gallipolis for 69 years. He was a United States Army Veteran, who proudly served his country. He enjoyed raising cattle for most of his life as well as traveling, camping and admiring different cars. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.&#13;
He is survived by his wife of over 66 years, Phyllis P. Martin Wilcoxon of Gallipolis, brother, Merrill (Judy) Wilcoxon of Gallipolis, sister, Gail Shafer of Crown City, sisters-in-law, Retha Metz and Naomi Wilcoxon both of Gallipolis, a brother-in-law, Robert Gauselman of Cincinnati and by several nieces and nephews.&#13;
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Tuesday May 30, 2023 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Pastors Harold Benson and Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Military Funeral Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the VFW #4464 Honor Guard.&#13;
Pallbearers will be: Randy Shafer, Chris, Steve, Gary, David and Terry Wilcoxon.&#13;
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Centenary United Methodist Church 2887 State Route 141 Gallipolis, OH 45631.</text>
