Born February 24, 1943 in Patriot, he was the son of the late John Franklin and Joy Gaye Marcum Straight. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by 2 brothers; Robert Straight and William Straight. John retired from the Waterloo Coal Company. He enjoyed farming and raising tobacco. He was currently as a Walnut Township Trustee, a position he had held for several years. John is survived by 2 sons, John Earl Straight II of Grove City, and Eric Scott Straight of Bidwell, 1 daughter, Renee Janet Straight of Bidwell, 3 grandchildren, Cody Noble of Baltimore, MD, Cory Straight of St. Petersburg, FL, and Cole Straight of Cincinnati, 1 great grandchild; Cecelia Straight, 1 brother, James Straight of Patriot, and by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Saturday July 22, 2022 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Bowers officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 AM. till 1:00 PM.
