            <text>Monroe Johnson, Jr., 81, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. Monroe was born October 8, 1941 in Bidwell, Ohio, son of the late Monroe Johnson and Anna Francis Dotson. A United States Air Force Veteran, he was an avid Cleveland Browns Fan who enjoyed sitting at the city park and talking to others.&#13;
&#13;
Monroe is survived by a brother, Christopher (Mira) Smith and sister, Kathy (George) Garnes, both of Gallipolis, Ohio and several extended family members and friends.&#13;
&#13;
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by brothers, Lloyd Smith, Jr. and Clibborn Leon Smith and sisters, Bessie Simmons and Elizabeth Miller.&#13;
&#13;
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Monday, June 19, 2023 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Pastor Marlin Griffin officiating. Full Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Gallia County Veterans Funeral Detail in Providence Cemetery, Bidwell, Ohio. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Monday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.</text>
