            <text>James Concie Pratt, 81, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away peacefully Monday, July 17, 2023 in the Ohio State University Wexner Center, Columbus, Ohio. The son of the late Charles Edward and Lynchia Elizabeth (Christian) Pratt, he was born February 10, 1942 at Wayne, West Virginia. A proud United States Army Veteran, James served our country during the Vietnam Conflict and after in the capacity of Army 1st Sergeant until his retirement in 1983.&#13;
&#13;
During his service, he served in Fort Riley, Kansas, Fort Benning, Georgia, Fort Richardson, Arkansas, Vietnam, Fort Lewis, Washington, Cordova, Italy and Fort Campbell, Kentucky. A two-time Purple Heart Award Recipient, he served his country beyond enlistment as a Non-Commissioned Officer.&#13;

James will be greatly missed by his children: Deanna (Jonathan Owen) Osborne, Dublin, Ohio; Deloris (Tracy) Thaxton, Mesa, Arizona and Terry (Elizabeth) Pratt, Gallipolis, Ohio; by his grandchildren: Christopher Morgan Osborne, Savannah Osborne, Sierrah Osborne, Andrew (Jasmyne) Owen, Adam (Irene) Ferrari,  Rachel Thaxton, Ryan Thaxton, Timmymesha Moody and Kaden Bellomy. Also left behind are his brothers: Kenneth (Jean) Pratt, Bucyrus, Ohio; Vernon Pratt, Gallipolis, Ohio; Ron (Laura) Pratt, Lakeview, Ohio and Oliver (Ronnie) Pratt, Riverview, Florida; sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Stokes, Poplarville, Mississippi and Sandra “Aunt Marie” (James) Greene, Bidwell, Ohio as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.&#13;
&#13;
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, July 22, 2023 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio. Full Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Gallia County Veterans Funeral Detail in the Pendleton-Marcum Cemetery, Vinton, Ohio. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Saturday 11:00 AM to the service hour.</text>
