Kody Ray Zimmerman, a cherished son, brother, father, and friend, will forever be remembered for his kind heart, hard work, and love for his family & friends. Born on October 26, 1992, in Ocala, Florida, to his devoted father Lloyd "Ray" Zimmerman & mother Melanie Hensley, Kody's journey came to a tragic end on Thursday, June 13, 2024, following a devastating automobile accident. He was 31.
Growing up in Athens, Ohio, Kody embraced life's simple joys, relishing in fishing by the river, collecting Cincinnati Bengals football cards, and spending quality time with loved ones. His passion for baseball, instilled during his youth and shared with his son Caden, brought a sense of pride and connection that illuminated his spirit.
Kody's dedication to his craft as a concrete finisher at Complete General Construction exemplified his relentless work ethic and commitment to excellence. Beyond his professional pursuits, Kody found solace in aiding his grandfather, Conrad, and treasuring moments with his family.
Kody is survived by his father, Lloyd "Ray" Zimmerman; sister, Ma'Kenna Zimmerman; son, Caden Zimmerman; grandfathers, Conrad Zimmerman and Michael Hensley; aunts & uncles Robert (Kristie) Zimmerman, Lynn (Todd) Farnsley, and Meghann (Eddie) Hamilton; special niece, Olivia Wooten; and several cousins.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Melanie M. Hensley; and grandmothers, Donna "Sue" Zimmerman and Montana Hensley.
A funeral service in honor of Kody will be conducted on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home officiated by Gary Alton. Burial will follow in New Marshfield Cemetery. Preceding the service, a visitation for family and friends to pay their respects will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be graciously made to the family or funeral home in support of unexpected end-of-life expenses.
