He was previously employed by Verson Allsteel Press Co.,Chicago, IL, Kaiser Aluminum, Ravenswood, WV, Goodyear, Apple Grove, WV and American Electric Power's-Poston plant.  He retired from American Electric Power's-Phillip Sporn Plant, New Haven, WV.  &#13;

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Pauline (Dill) Fields, sister Mary Ann Fields, in Laws Charles and Frances Eskew and brother in law David Eskew and sister in law Rita Fields.&#13;
&#13;
In addition to his wife Barbara, he is survived by his sons, Jerry (Jacqueline) Fields Jr., and Terry (Jodi) Fields, granddaughters Ashley (Cody) Smith and Madison Fields, grandsons Chris Fields and Tyler Fields, great-granddaughter Lilly Smith and great-grandson, Jackson Smith. He is also survived by a sister Patricia Fields and brothers Joseph R. Fields and Jeffrey Fields and sister in laws Janice Nolan and Joetta Eskew along with several nieces and nephews.&#13;
&#13;
 Private services will be held.</text>
