            <text>Joseph “Rob” Dean Loftis, age 83 born on the 15th of May 1940 in West Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on April 21, 2024, at his home in Pomeroy, Ohio. He was a retiree of American Electric Power, he was a licensed boiler maker, he held numerous jobs throughout his life and even owned a restaurant at one time, he also served in the US Navy for 10 years. Joe was also an active member of the American Legion Post 39, Pomeroy, Ohio. Joe loved the outdoors fishing, hunting, and gardening. Some of his favorite days were spent on the golf course with his golfing buddies. But his pride and joy were his 4 grandchildren and being involved in their lives from sports to academics. He was always supporting them and cheering them and their friends on the best that he could in every event. He was occasionally known to help referee from the stands. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Cora Alberta Priddy Loftis, daughter BettyAnn Loftis Wolfe and her husband Joe Wolfe, and his 4 treasured grandchildren, Kody Dean (Keri) Wolfe of Athens, Ohio, Tristen Andrew (Laura) Wolfe of Syracuse Ohio, Joseph Conner (Valerie) Wolfe of Syracuse, and Baylee Ann Wolfe of Racine, Ohio, his sister Mary (Paul) Smith of Dickson, TN, sister-in-law Ann Thomas, brother-in-law John Priddy and many loving nieces and nephews. His best friend Larry Parsons and special friends Tammy and Bob Ball. He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph (J.D.) Dean Loftis, Jr., his parents Earl Chaffin Loftis and Clara Lorene Sullens Loftis, siblings Betty White, Howell Loftis, Earl Loftis Jr., Warren Loftis, Henry Clay Loftis and Judy Ann Schroder, in-laws Loyd Manuel Priddy and Elsie Ellen Dilcher Priddy, brothers-in-law Raymond Priddy and Fred Priddy. Pall bearers will be Kody Wolfe, Tristen Wolfe, Conner Wolfe, Joe Wolfe, Chris Smith, and David Loftis. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held on Saturday April 27th, 2024, at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy, Ohio. Family will gather at 10:00 and Visitation will be from 11:00 to 1:00 with the service starting at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Miles Cemetery in Rutland, Ohio. In honor of Joseph Loftis, donations may be made to American Legion Post 39 41765 Pomeroy Pike, Pomeroy Ohio 45769.</text>
