            <text>Wayne L. McDade (Dude), 72, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2024, surrounded by his friends and family. He was born in his family's cabin in Leon, W.V. on October 2, 1951. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Macel McDade, eight brothers, sisters, and his son Carl Wayne McDade.&#13;
&#13;
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Marilee and son Todd, grandchildren Bryona and Brody McDade, daughter-in-law Robin (Carl) and granddaughter Makenna McDade, sisters Ruth Dailey and Patricia Jordan.&#13;
&#13;
Wayne joined the U.S. Army, September 1969, serving with the Big Red 1 honorably for one term. Then, he served with distinction in the Army National Guard for another 6 years. Speaking often of his times in Kansas and Germany. Speaking also at length about the lifelong friendships and misadventures that was had during his time in the service. Dedicated to his family and profession, Wayne worked 10 years at Valley Lumber before working and retiring with 24 years at Ravenswood Constellium, where he was lovingly known to Everyone as "Dude". Wayne was a stranger to no-one and a dear close friend to most. His generosity, patience, and compassionate nature coupled with his contagious smile, bright eyes, and quick wit left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure to have known him.&#13;
&#13;
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, June 7, 2024, at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy with Pastor Alan Blackwood officiating and military honors presented by the V.F.W. Post 9926. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Leon, WV. Visitation for family and friends will be held two hours prior to the service from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the funeral home.</text>
