Text Any textual data included in the document It is with great sadness that the family of Ida Mae (Johnson) Murphy announce her peaceful passing on June 26th, 2024 at the age of 94. She was at home-her favorite place, surrounded by family. Ida is lovingly remembered by her brother, Harley E. (Kathryn) Johnson, her children Elaine Downs (Bob Duncan), John (Laura) Murphy, Peggy (Jeff) Bole, Carmel (Joe) Evans, Barbara (Greg) Davis, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley T. and Iva G. Johnson; sisters, Evelyn Thoma and Naomi Smith; a son, Robert (Bob) Murphy; great granddaughters, Aubree and Jessee Jarrell; and a great grandson, Carter Downs. Ida was born November 23rd, 1929 in Salisbury Township, Meigs County. She dedicated her life to her home, children and church family. She loved taking an active role in both her kids and grandkids lives. Whether it was the PTA, band or watching sports, she rarely missed an event. She was a church officer and board member, and would always take part in any activity they had. Bible school, choir, skits- she loved being involved with her church family. Ida was one of the “good ones”, and will forever be missed by those who knew and loved her. The family would like to express tremendous gratitude to Ohio Health for the loving care given Ida, and for providing comfort and support for the family. Also a special thanks to Breonna Phillips, for her gentle support and attentive care of Ida. Day or night, Breonna attended to Ida’s many needs and the family is eternally grateful to her. Friends and family are invited to come say their final farewells to Ida on Monday, July 1st, 2024 at Anderson-McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy, OH. Calling hours will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm, with the funeral to directly follow at 1:00pm. Internment will be at Wells Cemetery in Pageville, OH.
