            <text>Avelene Carroll, 83, of Bidwell, Ohio passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024 at her residence.  She was born on June 9, 1941 in Johns Creek, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Raymond and Pearlie Church Ward.  Avelene retired after 28 years of service as a bus driver for the Gallia County Local Schools.&#13;

Avelene is survived by her husband of 30 years, Jesse Carroll; one son, Tim McComas of Vinton, Ohio; one daughter, Kathy Ballantyne of Vinton; grandchildren, Tiffany McComas of Gallipolis, Ohio, Kayla (Justin) Mollohan of Bidwell, Ohio, Danny Ballantyne of Vinton, Ohio, Adam (Becky) Davis, of Jackson, Ohio, and Ryan (Maddie Tabor) Clark of Gallipolis, Ohio; great grandchildren, Jessa, Levi, and Emma Mollohan all of Bidwell, Ohio and Wade, Aiden, and Brentley Davis all of Jackson, Ohio; brothers, Roscoe (Joyce) Ward of Vinton, Ohio, and Don (Sandy) Ward of Bloomfield, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.&#13;

In addition to her parents, Avelene was preceded in death by her former husband, Gary McComas on September 26, 2016; three brothers, Willie Ward, Gratho Ward, and Roger Ward; one sister, Christine Reynolds; and a daughter-in-law, Andrea McComas.&#13;
&#13;
The funeral service for Avelene will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Heath Jenkins officiating.  Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens.  Friends may call on Tuesday prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.</text>
