            <text>Avice Elizabeth Spencer, of Bashan, Ohio passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital.   She was born on July 22, 1952 in Parkersburg, WV to the late Alvin and Alice (Camp) Mays.   Avice was a member of the Bashan Volunteer Fire Department for over 37 years serving as the treasurer and secretary.   She loved making ice cream with the Bashan Fire Department.   She also worked at the TNT Pit Stop in Chester, Ohio for 33 years.   In earlier years she loved to travel with her husband Harry.   &#13;

She is survived by her, son, Keith (Stacey) Spencer, Lyons, CO; daughter, Kelly Spencer and Bill Aberts, Long Bottom; grandchildren, Benjamin and Sydney Spencer, Jennifer (Justin) Justis, Austin Carnahan and Tyson Maxson; great grandchildren, Bralan and Waylon; sisters, Ina VanMeter, Tuppers Plains, Ohio and Karen White of Proctorville, Ohio; sister-in-law, Esther Mays; brother-in-law; Ray Spencer, Glouster, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.  &#13;

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harry Spencer; brothers, Thomas Mays, James Mays; mother and father in law; Waid and Gladys Spencer; brother in law, Thomas Spencer.  &#13;

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the Chester Cemetery with Pastor Chris Davis officiating.   Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 6-8:00pm at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy.  </text>
