<text>It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Crystal (Burnem) Baughman, 57 of Pomeroy, after a long fight with cancer, Crystal went to be with her lord on January 31st 2025. She was born on October 21, 1967, and had a life full of service to others and great passion for the Lord. Crystal remained kind, compassionate, loving her family and friends, and having a strong relationship with her Lord and Savior to the very end. Her faith was beautifully demonstrated by her life. Crystal lived in Meigs County with her family. She was a member at St. Peter's Episcopal Church of Gallipolis. She shared the love of Jesus and studied the Bible often. She had a passion for collecting Bibles. It started with just a few here and there, then a couple more, then a lot more. She collected so many that one day the top of her bookshelf made a loud crack and gave way. Bibles rained down burying her in a pile. This was a memory she enjoyed sharing. Crystal was an advocate for equality, fighting for the rights of others. She lived her faith by standing up for the overlooked and challenging injustice. Her mission was simple: sharing God’s love.

Crystal's kindness went beyond the walls of the church. She showed it in her volunteer work at the Meigs County Humane Society Thrift Shop. Whether sorting donations, writing vouchers, or chatting to shoppers, Crystal brought her heart for service everywhere, making sure no one felt left out. Crystal’s creativity shone through in everything she did, from her interior decorating to her flair for clothing. She enjoyed shopping, turning simple finds into treasures that made her home and wardrobe pop with personality. With her bright fashion choices, she was hard to miss—people could spot Crystal a mile away, her vibrant style bringing joy to those around her.

Crystal is survived by her devoted, loving, husband of 39 years, Jeff Baughman; her sons, Jeffrey (Michael) Oliver and Jonathan (Casey) Baughman; her beloved grandchildren, George Oliver, Isabella and Xander Baughman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Ann Burnem, and her sister, Saundra (Burnem) Bush. Crystal is survived by her siblings and their spouses: Lee (April) Burnem, Greg (Brenda) Burnem, Melody (Donald) Shupe, Pete (Stephanie) Burnem, Lori (John) Randolph and Steve Bush

Crystal’s legacy is one of love, faith, and kindness. She touched the lives of so many, leaving behind an example of compassion and advocacy for equality. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will inspire all who knew her to keep spreading love, standing up for justice, and making the world a kinder place.
