            <text>Velma Lorraine Myer, 95, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at her daughter’s home.&#13;
&#13;
Born on October 8, 1929 in New Boston, Ohio, Velma was the daughter of the late George Garner and Anna B. Conn Payton.  On March 29, 1969, Velma married Curtis W. “Skeet” Myer who preceded her in death on December 5, 2005.  Velma was a member of Violet Baptist Church in Pickerington, Ohio.&#13;
&#13;
Velma is survived by her children, Gary (Shelley) McCleese of Lakeview, Oregon and Judy A. Kellogg-Nauman (George Nauman) of Canal Winchester, Ohio; grandchildren, Jodee Snider, Connie Barrett, Carrie Ann Netto, Courtney Borradaile, Jamie (Suzanne) Watters, William Whitelaw, Christopher (Anna) Watters, Shawn McCleese, and Seth Sailors; great grandchildren, Dylan, Morgan, Alexis, Savannah, Emma, Gavin, Aidan, James, Michael, Levi, Trevor, and Kaylee; several great great grandchildren; Amanda Myers, a special care-giver; and special friend, John Meighan.&#13;
&#13;
In addition to her parents and husband, Velma was preceded in death by a son, Gene Myer; daughter, Mary Whitelaw; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Myer; and by eight siblings.&#13;
&#13;
A private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 in Mound Hill Cemetery.&#13;
&#13;
No flowers please, the family requests donations be made in Velma’s name to Heritage Baptist Church, 4045 Georges Creek Road, Gallipolis, Ohio 45631.</text>
