<text>Marjorie F. Jarvis, 98, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed into the arms of her Lord on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

She was born on March 7, 1926 to the late Cordie E. Smith, Sr. and M. Edith (DeWitt) Smith. She graduated from Gallia Academy High School Class of 1944. Being raised on a farm, she learned early how to work hard and do your best in everything you do. And that thought was instilled later in her children.

On July 22, 1947, Marjorie married Howell J. “Jake” Jarvis. They moved to Nelsonville and operated Mack’s Dairy Freeze for several years. The money earned there was used to build a home back in Gallipolis in 1955 to raise their family. She joined First Baptist Church and attended as long as health allowed. Mom loved her vegetable gardens, and many families enjoyed the results of her labor.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Cordie E. Smith, Jr.; and her husband Jake in August of 2016.

Marjorie is survived by her children: Sherri, Jay (Cheryl), and Gary (Suzanne); grandchildren, Joshua Jarvis, Joee Jarvis, Dianna (Rod) Bruning, Stephanie Jarvis, Amanda (Dylan) Hunter, and Joseph (fiancé Lily) Jarvis; and great grandchildren, Roman, Selah, Lilah, and Sullivan Bruning, Charlotte and Remington Hunter, and Lucas Jarvis.

The funeral service for Marjorie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Young officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery. Friends and family may call prior to the service Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, you can donate to Ohio Valley Christian School or the charity you choose. Thanks to First Baptist Church for the visits, cards, prayers, and meals to members at home. Also, thanks to Heartland Hospice for its caring help these last few months.</text>
