<text>Daniel Dean Thomas, 86, of Middleport, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025. Born on December 23, 1938, Dan lived a life of deep faith, unwavering generosity, and boundless love for his family and community.

A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Dan served his country with honor and brought that same commitment to everything he did in life. He was a man of God who carried his Bible close and never missed an opportunity to share the Word or offer a heartfelt prayer. Whether it was feeding a stranger, lending a helping hand, or offering words of wisdom, Dan lived to serve others and embody the love of Christ.

Dan was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanette Thomas; his parents, Taylor and Elizabeth Thomas; brothers, Jack, Ben and Wheeler Thomas and his sister, Jo Thomas. He now joins them in eternal peace.

He is survived by his children: Jonathan (Taite) Pauley, Danny (Leah) Thomas, and Kathy (Paul) Dailey. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Courtney (JD) Whittington, Lauren (Michael) Battin, Connor Thomas, Zachary Dailey, Emerson Pauley, Taylor Palmer, Tanner Palmer, and Kaity Thomas. His great-grandchildren—Sawyer and Arya Whittington, Samantha Battin, Fynlea and Gryphon Thomas, and Everly Kimes—brought him immense joy and pride.

Dan is also survived by his sister, Nancy Thomas, of Florida, and by many cherished friends and extended family. He was immensely proud of the family he and Jeanette built, and he considered them his greatest blessing.

A celebration of Dan’s life will be held on Saturday, August 9th at 12:00 p.m. at the Middleport Church of Christ, with calling hours beginning two hours prior, at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend and honor the life of a man who gave so much to so many.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Middleport Church of Christ’s free monthly dinners program, continuing Dan’s legacy of feeding others in both body and spirit.</text>
