            <text>Paul A. Simpson, 81, passed away on June 24, 2026. He was born on August 7, 1944, to the late Paul and Jane Simpson.&#13;
&#13;
Paul was a proud graduate of Pomeroy High School, Class of 1962. He honorably served his country in the United States Army and was awarded the National Defense Medal. He worked at AEP Mine #3 and later retired from Farmers Bank.&#13;
&#13;
Paul was a man who truly enjoyed life. He loved spending time with his family, telling jokes, and having fun. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love for those around him, and the many good memories he created with family and friends.&#13;
&#13;
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Janet Simpson; his daughters, Valerie (Jeff) Nottingham, Joanie Simpson, and Teresa Simpson; his grandchildren, Ethan (Ashley) Nottingham, Isaac (McKenna) Nottingham, and Devin Humphreys; his great-grandchildren, Dawson, Dakota, Dylan, Dallas, and Hudson; and his brother, Randy (Melanie) Simpson.&#13;
&#13;
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brothers, David Simpson and Gary Simpson.&#13;
&#13;
Paul’s family will remember him as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed.&#13;
&#13;
Services will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at the Long Bottom United Methodist Church at 2:00pm.   </text>
