Pittsfield, June 11-Andy Coakley and Peter J. Noonan, returning from Holy Cross where the attended the 35th reunion of their class, attended the first game. The used to be a great batter at Holy Cross and later both were with the Athletics. Andy managed the Pittsfield club of the Eastern league in 1924 and he has long been baseball coach at Columbia university. He is identified with Hotel Roosevelt. New York. Andy and his wife will visit with Mr and Mrs Noonan at their summer home in Great Barrington.
Byers pitched so very well in the second game that there was not much for his teammates to do. Still they contributed some gems afield. Lowe made a neat play to gather in O'Donnell's bunt and throw him out in the third inning. Moore went far and with his back to the infield puulled a beautiful one-handed catch of Tice's fly in the fifth inning.
Byers did quite a bit of fancy fielding himself. In the sixth frame Waugh hit a grounder, which Wojtkowiak knocked down. Byers covered first and he managed to slide and also catch the peg with one hand to retire the running.
Lloyd Moore stepped to the plate seven times, getting two triples, a single and drawing a pass. He batted in two runs and scored two. Connie Wojtkowiak has a triple and three singles out of seven times up.
George Savino, batting left-handed against Hough, a right-hander, in the first inning of the opening games doubled to ledt to score Wojtkowiak. And in the first inning of the second contest he hit left handed against Waugh, a right-hander and batted in two runs with a double to right center.
