ing "Don't Get Around Much Any
More" as my cuirent theme song.
through Martha Robson Cunningham, fonner Middleport resident, I've learned that I'm getting around more than 1realized.
Martha writes that Jeanne Heines.
Lietwiler of Columbus, clips" the
"Beat" columns, sends 'em to B~uy ·
Jo and Cub Allensworth who live
near Columbus. They, ln tum, send .
diem to Martha and her hushand,
Tip, in Lima, and they send them on
to Peg and"Shef Ken\s In Florida.
. After that I suspect it's·"file 13" but
obviously I'm getting circulated.
. Martha writes t_hat after being
gone from the Bend for 56 years, she
and Tip still enjoy reading the local
happenings. They don't get back to
~.eigs County too frequently but
were here recently to attend the
funeral of Manha's cousiA, Dorothy
·Winebrenner. They were gt<~teful
that the Meigs Inn · bas come into·

in the Gallipolis area on their visits.
And, by the way, last October, Tip
,nd Martha, were aboard the Mississippi Queen when Its p~sed our
communities. They were accompanied by Tip's brother, Paul, formerly
of Middleport also, and his wife.
Betty, who reside in Tulsa, Okla.
- Martha says it was such a treat to
see Middleport arid Pomeroy from
the river perspective aboard the
Queen. It was the first such trip for
Mru:tha and 1ip and they had a ball.
It's always good to hear from former residents who in spite of long
· years of being away still have pleasant memories ·of the old home ·
