James H. “Jim” Broyles, 69, of Gallipolis, passed away, at 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at his residence. Born October 4, 1948 in Gallipolis he was the son of the Late Thomas H. and Lurena Helena Hill Broyles. He served his county in the U.S. Air Force and was a retired Plant Manager where he worked for various companies throughout the state. He was a member of the Addison Freewill Baptist Church, a former Commodore of the Gallipolis Boat Club, and he loved to fish.

He is survived by his wife, Camilla Banks Broyles, whom he married on September 8, 1970, in Wise, Virginia, a daughter, Amy (Philip) Silvey, of Rio Grande, and a son, James M. (Christy) Broyles, of Gallipolis, six grandchildren, Greg, Wade, James, Timmy, Kelsie, and Alyssa, and a great-granddaughter, Lydia Rose. Brothers, John Thomas (Mary) Broyles, of Columbus, Robert “Stretch” (Grace) Broyles, of Gallipolis, William David (Tina) Broyles, of Pleasant Plains, Oh., Roger Lee (Jane) Broyles, of Gallipolis, and Charles Allen (Teri) Broyles, of Melbourne, Fl., a brother-in-law, Gilbert Hamilton, and a sister-in-law, Debbie (Steve) Manley, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, James Henry Martin Broyles, a sister, Mona Jean Lane Hamilton, brothers-in-law, Tom and Tim Banks, and several aunts and uncles.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018 in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis. Pastor Rick Barcus will officiate and interment will follow in the Centenary Cemetery.
