On a very hot July 7, 1979, at 7:07PM Dustin Emerson Null was born to Elizabeth McGhee Null and John Null. His big brother, Ryan, was so excited to welcome him. They both loved each other unconditionally.
Dustin left this world on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. In his 44 years he was exposed to a loving and caring family. He was also a part of a neighborhood of kids that grew as family. While in Rio Grande Elementary he enjoyed everyone, especially socializing. After graduating from Gallia Academy Dustin graduated from the Hobart School of Welding. Upon coming back home he worked various welding jobs at various plants and he attended the Northbend Church, in Mason, West Virginia. He married Julie Merry and to that union a beautiful baby girl was born. Gracyn was his pride and joy.
A nightmare then enveloped his and our lives, and his marriage ended. No matter how much he tried and we tried things were a roller coaster. The coaster crashed and now his family survives without knowing and understanding how this could have ever happened. It is and was a nightmare.
Dustin is survived by parents Beth and Jerry Frazier, John and Anita Null, a daughter, Gracyn. His fiancé Carla Ireland, and brothers Ryan Null, Chad and Sarah Frazier, with Thomas Frazier. Also surviving are Aunt, Vicki and Steve Rinehart, Uncle, Steve and Karen McGhee. Cousins are Amanda and Drew Miller, Jessica and Jimmy Martinez McGhee, Allison McGhee, and Eric, Grant, Dane and Meghan Rinehart, along with niece, Aubree and Kaden Frazier nephew. Sidney and Baby Steven, too. Uncles, Mike and Denise Null, Mark and Tami Null, with cousins, Michael, Becky, Carli and Tori. Uncle, Danny Frazier and Aunt, Susan Frazier along with cousins Brynna Frazier, Jacob and Laura Frazier and their children, Emma, Cobie, Owen and Cooper. Kacie Grate bonus cousin with Emma, Cambree and Cason survive. Tiara and Justin, Carla’s children survived.
Proceeding him in death were grandparents Myron “Bud” McGhee and Dona McGhee along with Carlton and Barbara Null. Ralph and Dorothy Frazier with Aunt Cheryl Frazier also preceded him.
Left behind are many other friends and family, many of which he met throughout his life. He had the gift to gab. He got it honestly.
Dustin loved, boating, fishing, trap shooting and socializing with old friends. He didn’t know a stranger. He did mission work in South America and vacationed in the United States and Canada with his family as a child. Disney World was often frequented. He loved making apple butter in the fall of the year. As a child he took off his own training wheels and off he went. He could do whatever he put his mind to do. He loved tinkering in the garage with his dad, and reloading shogun shells. Dustin could fix anything broken, except for one. He tried and kept trying.
There will be a ceremony at the Cremeens-King Funeral Home at 1 PM on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 with Pastor Randy Patterson officiating. Visitation will be at 12 noon prior to service. Private interment will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery at the site of his grandparents.
In lieu of food and flowers, please consider contributing to Gracyn’s college fund at Ohio Valley Bank, in care of Julie Cremeens, mother.
Please keep us in your prayers and hug your children extra hard, no matter the age, always let them know that you love them. Never ever turn your backs on them and walk away. We, especially me, thought we were ready for this, but it has crushed my heart. We question what could have been done differently. We don’t think there was anything to do. Thanks to Carla for all you have done for the last ten years. He tried time after time to do the right thing. Throughout all he constantly told me how thankful he was for Gracyn to have her mother, Julie and Brett in her life. He also said that one day he wanted to personally thank him. Well, that didn’t happen. He loved her enough to not want to come and go in her life. He was constantly asking about her. He got plenty of pictures, too. We pray he has found peace and is able to rejoice with loved ones in heaven.
