Cora Mae Byers, 99, of Richmond Hill, Georgia, passed away, on Sunday, December 11, 2022, in the Magnolia Manor of Midway, Midway, Georgia. Born March 13, 1923, in Letart Falls, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Bart and Mamie Peakcock Miller. She was a retried assembly line worker for the General Electric company, in Warren, Ohio. She also was an avid golfer.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Byers, of Cortland, Ohio, granddaughter, Lisa (Julien) Defontaine, grandson, Joshua Byers, great-grandsons, Will Defontaine, and John Defontaine. Sisters, Opal E. Diddle, of Columbus, and Jean Fisher, of Gallipolis, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer A. Byers, who preceded her on November 1, 1998, a son, Eugene Byers, a granddaughter, Sheri Byers, sisters, Irene Hayman, and Lydia Schultz, brothers, Robert Miller, William Miller, Lewis Miller, and Fred Miller, Sr.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022, in the Chapel at the Letart Falls Cemetery. Rev. Larry Fisher will officiate, and interment will follow. The Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Racine is entrusted with the arrangements.
